We try to keep your WeatherPromise in place when your trip changes. Sometimes it can't stay. When a booking is changed through a partner site, such as moving the dates, adding or dropping a night, or switching the property, the partner sends us a cancellation for the original reservation. The WeatherPromise tied to it is canceled automatically, and you get an email saying so, even though you didn't cancel anything yourself.
What happens to what you paid
We will issue a refund of the fees you paid automatically, usually within a few business days depending on your bank.
If you'd like to keep your WeatherPromise for the updated trip
You're welcome to reach out with your contract number and the new booking details, and we'll rebook it for you. One date to know: a WeatherPromise needs to be in place at least 7 days before your trip starts, so the sooner you write, the more options you have.
Why the new price can differ
Every WeatherPromise is priced for its exact dates, destination and trip cost, based on the rainfall history for that window. A shift of a few days can land in a wetter or drier stretch, so the price and the threshold can move with it. You'll see both before you confirm.
If you didn't change anything
Partners sometimes update a booking on their side, for example a host moving you to another unit. If you got a cancellation email and your trip looks the same to you, it's worth a message. Send us your contract number and we'll check what the partner sent.
We'd love to be part of the updated trip, so let us know.
